Some questions about Bootlegs and my CD-Inlay's

QUESTION:

Do you sell Bootlegs or give them away otherwise?

ANSWER:

No. I don't sell Bootlegs! And I cannot tell you, where to buy them. I also don't trade discs anymore. So please don't ask me about that.

QUESTION:

Do these CD-Inlay's cost any money, do I have to be a member or something like that?

ANSWER:

No. The CD-Inlay's are free and you can get them for download at any time without doing anything in advance and without any charge. I just share with other fans, what I have created for myself.

QUESTION:

What is an CD-Inlay in this special case?

ANSWER:

A CD-Inlay, the way I offer it, is an additional Inlay-Card for your CD's. You can get a lot of information about the CD, like

I hate it, that a lot of CD's and especially the Bootlegs, rarely give you special information about the version or the correct timing of the songs. I have a big collection of CD's of which I have created my special CD-Inlay's. Not only for Bootlegs, but also for some officially released discs as well. They are not meant to replace the original artwork!

This is an example of how a single CD-Inlay looks like:

Explanation:

Column 1

Track Number

Column 2

The timing of the actual complete CD track, as appearing on the CD player, when you choose "Time Remain" or something like that.

Column 3

Sound - Mono or Stereo

Column 4

The description for the actual music piece

Column 5
(not always included)

Gives information about the timing, if the particular track is not going on throughout the complete time of the CD track. In most cases this column appears, if there is more than one music piece in a CD track

Column 6

The timing for the one special music piece it appears with. It can differ from the information included in column 2, because even single music pieces not always fill the complete CD track.

This isn't exactly the original format, but it's close to what it looks like:

You can also download a sample file with some Inlay's here (to use in Microsoft Word for Windows, for more information read below):

Basically the CD-Inlay is just a table, that fits in the front-side of the the CD jewel case. You only have to cut it out after you printed it.

QUESTION:

Did you describe the versions like you felt you had in each case or are there some rules, that are found in all CD-Inlay's?

ANSWER:

There are certain rules for all the entries in the CD-Inlay's. You can check them out here.

QUESTION:

What do I need to be able to use the CD-Inlay's?

ANSWER:

Microsoft Word for Windows. I am using Word 2000 these days. I can not judge about how the things will look if you convert them with other text editors.

Since some of the files are quite big due to the big number of files, they are compressed using the ZIP format. Nowadays Windows XP can handle these by itself, on older systems you'll need some software to extract them.

I am printing the Inlay's with an Hewlett Packard Deskjet 990 Cxi, they fit into my CD-cases, but maybe you have to correct the measures a bit for you printer.

QUESTION:

On which sources did you take a look while creating the CD-Inlay's?

ANSWER:

I've taken the detailed information about the songs mainly from the following books and magazine:

"The 910's Guide To The Beatles' Outtakes" (Part One)
(Fourth Edition, 2001)
by Doug Sulpy

"The 910's Guide To The Beatles' Outtakes" (Part Two)
(The Complete Get Back Sessions, First Edition, 2001)
by Doug Sulpy

"The 910's Guide To The Solo Beatles' Outtakes"
(First Edition, 1996)
by Doug Sulpy and Chip Madinger

For additional information on the Get Back-Sessions:
"Get Back - The Unauthorized Chronicle Of The Beatles' Let It Be Disaster"
(Second Edition of the book that was previously known as
"Drugs, Divorce and a Slipping Image", 1997)
by Doug Sulpy and Ray Schweighardt

For information about the solo work of John, Paul, George and Ringo from 1966 - 2000:
Eight Arms To Hold You - The Solo Beatles Compendium
by Chip Madinger and Mark Easter

For information about the various officially available mixes:
"The Beatles Mixes - The Ultimate Guide Through All Variations Of The Beatles Recordings"
(Second Edition, April 2000)
by Holger Schoeler & Thorsten Schmidt

For general information about the Beatles' music:
